The only good reason to start a small company is because you love what you do and you want to do it to the best of your capabilities, free from dogmatic HR structures and the pathologies of a larger organization. Announcing yourself as an entrepreneur in order to look cool is lame. The best entrepreneurs don't need to describe themselves as entrepreneurs. They are simply doers of what they do best, entrepreneurship is incidental - the best way to achieve their goals.
