Post Facto Obsequiousness
The Dominion Post all but ignores the local body elections for months leading up to the final vote count, but then turns around and has absolutely no problem giving Owen Scott a soapbox for hand-wringing over the poor voter turnout.
I agree with most of his points about smoother and easier to understand systems, but I wonder how the most obvious marketing influence has been missed? ie: media coverage).
I wish that New Zealand journalists would accept that their selective reporting does have an effect on public opinion and election results (I will happily accept data that disproves this hypothesis).
