In Berlin

How strange to be without consistent internet for almost a month.

As you can see, I made it to Berlin in one piece, and I've been lucky enough to land directly in the middle of a period of amazing summer weather. The days are long, the nights are warm and bright, and the beers are cheap.

Almost immediately upon arriving, I felt a sense of belonging, as if the city was extending an embrace. Everything feels right and strangely normal to me - the weeds growing out of cracks in the pavement, trees and bikes everywhere, and the blitz of graffiti that covers every flat surface in the eastern parts of the city. Berlin is definitely the right place for me, and I'm excited about the possibilities of being here.

I'm now living in an apartment in the infamous district of Kreuzberg, and am slowly arranging things in order to continue working on my creative writing projects. This city provides a huge level of inspiration - but the price to be paid is a huge level of distraction.
