Exit Entwicklung!

Yes, my fun fun times in Auckland are over. And my fun fun times with Flicks.co.nz and PixelFusion have come to an end. It’s been hugely rewarding (if not a little frustrating at times) working with some of the leading PHP developers in NZ over the past year and a half and I’ve learned a huge amount about the social design challenges surrounding agile development and evolving user interfaces for content management systems. After the last few years of pumping out huge amounts of code on NZ web projects, I think it’s time I moved on to other creative things.

In amongst the flurry of my last week in New Zealand, I’ve been spending a few hours tidying the content I’ve collected over the past 4 years running this site. It’s a bigger task than I first thought! Having spent the last 3 months setting up the environment of web services and a CMS model that I need to start curating this thing a little better, it must be time to start letting things loose...

This website is like an open mistake, inching its way forward in broken increments. But I’m having a lot of fun, slowly tapping the structure towards finally having a CMS where I can edit fluid layouts, something I have been waiting far too long to get started on.

And I’m on my way to Berlin. I have absolutely no idea how that will impact on what I’m publishing, but yo, right here, I’m on a mission, and I ain’t stopping.
