Crying Sculpture
Via bTang, I just stumbled across this crying sculpture (.pdf) which explores the theme of communication through tears. Crying is often considered solitary and individual, but here a significance is placed on the aspect of sharing the emotions with another person - the sad person even recieves a response back, analogous to wiping the tears away.
Whether the artists knew it or not, this kind of communication links back to a far older practice, as explained in A Short History of Lachrymatory Bottles.
